Versa 4 stuck on message "To start, download the Fitbit app"

ANSWERED

I've had my versa 4 for about a year now, and I haven't had too many issues with it. Last night, the screen wouldn't change back to the clock screen, and instead stayed on the apps. I kept pressing on the side button that's supposed to take me back to the clock, but instead it just turned the watch off. This morning, the issue persisted, so I tried shutting it down and turning it back on, which usually works for small problems like that. This time, however, it started showing the loading/updating screen. Now, it's stuck on the set-up screen, and I'm not sure what to do since when I looked in my app, it was still synced to my phone.

Hi there, @Leksan. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is stuck on that message and it won't connect. I understand how annoying this can be, I will do my best to help you with this!

As per the description of your post, it seems like you performed a factory reset. That would explain why you're now getting that message. In order to solve this inconvenience, please try the following steps in the order listed:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Versa 4 as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa 4 again.
  • Update your Versa 4
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 4.

If you can't get started with your Versa 4, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

@miro Thank you so much for your help!
